  • DIODM2024 is a continuation of DIODM2023 (Kumamoto, Japan). The symposium intends to provide an opportunity for researchers to introduce their recent achievements related with data-driven intelligent operations management, and thus to enhance international academic exchanges and communications on related topics among researchers.
  • Two Types of Submissions & Publications
  • All accepted papers (extended abstracts) will be included in the symposium program and proceedings, and must be presented at the symposium by one of the authors.

  • Type I: Full Paper Submission
  • The submission should be written with title, authors’ names, affiliations, email addresses, an up to 150-words abstract, and a one-column body within 8 single-spaced pages with font size 12pt. The submission of a paper implies that the paper is original, has not been published or submitted under review or is not copyright-protected elsewhere.

All full paper submissions will be reviewed by experts in the field based on the criteria of originality, significance, quality, and clarity.

  • Type II: Extended Abstract Submission
  • The submission should include a brief introduction of work, research questions, methodologies and some preliminary results within 2 single-spaced pages using font size 12pt. All extended abstracts will also be subject to blind peer review.

  • AI-Enhanced Smart Maritime Logistics: Spotlighting Port Logistics in South Korean Case Studies
  • Professor Hyerim Bae, PhD
  • Department of Industrial Engineering
  • Pusan National University, Korea
  • Abstract: In maritime logistics centered around ports, data-driven methodologies utilizing artificial intelligence and big data are emerging as significant approaches. Ports, situated at the nexus of sea and inland logistics, are increasing in importance. The optimization of shipping-port connectivity and port-inland linkages is an indispensable element. Precisely predicting the estimated time of arrival of ships and integrating this information with port operations is crucial. For this, real-time collection, analysis, and utilization of information about maritime and port conditions are necessary. Inland logistics is also closely tied to port logistics optimization, particularly in relation to the arrival and departure of trucks on land, necessitating integrated operations. Recently, the need for solutions considering safety and environmental factors in optimizing maritime logistics has also gained prominence. This keynote introduces data-driven approaches to smart maritime port logistics, focusing on case studies from South Korea.
