Cheol Young Kim received the BS, MS, Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from the Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1992, 1994, and 1999 respectively. He developed one of the world’s first Web-based 3D browsing and markup systems for product design data in 1996, and later the systems were modified to visualize 3D medical imaging data. He received best paper award in the Society for Concurrent Engineering in 1998 with the paper, “Distributed Concurrent Engineering: Internet-Based Interactive 3-D Dynamic Browsing and Markup of STEP Data”, Concurrent Engineering, Vol.6, Feb. 1998.
